Hello I'm looking for free ways to increase my se rank for terms such as essex electrician, Colchester electrician etc , I've search for free uk business directories but only truly free one was freeindex. Any help would be greatly appriciated

They aren't massively hard terms mate, so as long as your on site optimisation is sorted out some fairly low level linkbuilding will do the trick.

Any free directories where you can get links will help, and see if you can get links off geographically related blogs. That would help.

on site optimisation is always the best place to start when you have that nailed down you should rank well for a non-competitive keyword, but it is good to start planning your link building campaign for the future.

just work on your onsite content, and submit to any free directories, and read some thread son here they will help there is quite allot you can do your self for free and should easily put you on first page with in no time at all

I have just noticed that the heading entitled "electrician in london electrician in essex" has an opening h1 tag but h2 as a closing tag, make sure your code is clean. You can run pages through the w3c validator to make sure your code is correct. Heading tags are good but only use one H1 tag I have noticed that you have one than one in the page. Also is it a wordpress website?

you can have more than one h1 tag, Matt cutts has said this before in a video, should be on youtube about h tagging and how many times you can or should use them,

I would put abit more content on your pages not much more possibly another paragraph or two, Also think about have a blog area or tips area, just write an article every month or so about what people can do at home, Minor repairs or general maintenace of electrical goods, hot to change a fuse r wire a plug,

i would then just search for directories and submit to them there are thousands that are for free,

i also found this to be helpfull as tells you if still approving and lists a decent amount of free directories also shows niche directories as well so will give you a helping start

there is a need for customers to ring you, not saying tell them how to do what you do, just basic things change a plug socket or a fuse in a plug,

Customers will like the fact youare giving free advice and seo benefit it'll keep fetching google back to your site which will help increase rankings as well, yea you sohuld include keywords on your paraghraphs but dont over do it,

you could possibly say what general work you do and cover, also say what area's you work in as londonsparky to me the url would mean you work in london if you do surrounding area's say it on home page

you have just got to be clever with your articles make them usefulll but not too usefull that your telling anybody how to do it,

as for off page honestly use that link i gave you and just work your way through the list that will soon have you up and through the rankings

Well it was originally for London, but as I'm moving to Essex I have tried to change it to rank well for them term, I'll start writing articles now post maybe 1 a week, ive used the term Essex electrician a few times on the index page, is there enough or shall I add it once more when I add the new paragraphs. Once I've done all the on site Seo I'll start adding my site to all them directories.

you could add it couple more times wont hurt really, just as long as it looks natural. so dont force the words into a sentnce if it doesnt make sense google will pick up on this and also dont put it every other word, once you doing offsite seo just yous your title as essex electrician and use keywords for essex and surrounding area's (sorry dont know any as from up north) or even little town and villages with in essex for keywords.

I was told by an SEO company that you should only have one H1 tag per page, shows you what they know, obviously matt cutts knows best thanks for the heads up

My ranking are slowly rising Im rank 7 for electrician in Maldon and a few others but when doing keyword research I found out you get a lot more hit for electrician Maldon than you would for electrician in Maldon. All my high rankings keywords have "in" in it. How would I change the pages to rank better for Maldon electrician rather than electrician in Maldon. http://londonsparky.com/electrician-in-maldon-essex/
