    There are some disadvantage of social Media Marketing.

    1- Too many users.
    2- The word spreads like wildfire
    3- It is labor intensive.
    4- It builds a reciprocal relationship with your audience.
    5- It involves rapidly changing techniques.

    1 – Social Media Marketing is a FUN way to do business.
    2 – It is a cost effective “Internet Marketing strategy that can create viral results.
    3 – Companies have the ability to make “social” connections with consumer markets.
    4 – It drives traffic to your website, blog, articles, etc.
    5 – The traffic results in website links, blog comments, lead generation and sales conversions.

    1> if you post a bad or wrong link/post, it spreads too fast and is viral.
    2> You can have some negative feedbacks too from your circle/community.
    3> Consumes manpower, as it is not automatic.

    In my opinion, these are basic and common disadvantages of SMO.

    I don't really see anything except for the fact that pretty much anything you do will have consequences. So if you do something stupid on the networks it will come back to haunt you because most of it are permanent and lots of people will be able to see and can do some damage.
