What is google penguin and how it effect in SEO?

    Penguin is a Google update.Penguin targeting many different factors.
    1) if the majority of website's back links are low quality or spammy looking means back links creation form low quality blog network or link exchange technique etc.
    2) if majority of a website's back links are from unrelated websites.
    3) if too many links are pointing back to a website with exact match keywords.
    If these three thing you will do then Google will spam your website and rank will be demoted. So avoid these things and maintain your website's rank as it was before............:)

    it is a latest google algorithm and an replacement of Panda, i think it is a one of the most effective algo. because when google releases, the SERPs got changed... many sites got drop in serps.... if you earn the backlinks by using wrong method or by spamming than it affects you alot. it is a dangerous for every spammer... you can save your site by making genuine links... dont target home page urls most of the time.. vary the urls and keywords...

    hi mark....
    okey....i m going to explain it with help of an example of article submission,while submitting an article you make back links using hyper link in footer of the keywords,for example you make back link of 2 keywords in footer,then you submit this article,then in next submission of same article, use other 2 different keywords not the same that u have used before for making back links.it means that too many links are not pointing back to your website with exact keywords and google will not spam it.....:)

    penguin is also a part of logarithm which detect the over optimization and content duplicity
    and punish the website which are over optimized or stolen the content from other web pages
