In your content, your keyword density needs to be 2-4% for your target keywords. Other, less important keywords can have a slightly lower keyword density. If your keyword density is too high, your content will not read properly - and that's something your readers and the search engines don't like!

Keyword density is important because search engines use this information to categorize a site's theme, and to determine which terms the site is relevant to. The perfect keyword density will help achieve higher search engine positions.

Absolutely not true! If your keyword density is too low, your content may never register with the search engines. If it's too high, you look like your keyword stuffing, and your content does not look natural. Plus, readers won't stick around to muddle through content that's just stuffed with keywords.

Keyword density is ratio of word that is being searched for against total words displaying on the web page. If keyword arises only once in a page of one thousand words, it has a lower keyword density than keyword that arises four times in page of similar length.

Keyword density is a combination of the number of times a keyword or a keyword phrase, in proportion with other words, appears on a Web page. The more times the keyword appears in relation to the total number of on page words, the greater the overall keyword density. The more times that other words appear, the lower the proportion of keywords, resulting in a lighter keyword density.
