Just wanted to know if there was a Google dance or so. 4 of the websites that I do SEO for has suffered drastically. All four of them have different geography however they belong to the same genre. There were some core keywords that were ranking in top 5 positions consistently for 4 consecutive months, this week which I find has been pushed down to the next page. Any reasons why this could happen. I also conducted a penalty check, & found that none of the websites were banned.

Google dance for sure. As last week, 2 of my keyword rankings been down but this week they get back to their previous position. So don't worry. It'll be resolved automatically. Keep continuing your SEO activities both on page and off page.

    Hi shuvayu,

As per the latest Google Dance my website also lost keyword ranking in SERP's. It happens 4 times a year, you need not to worry just keep doing work as suggested by Lolita. Just concentrate on unique and relevant content while posting comments or content on your website.

After Caffeine update, Google has stopped dancing.

Probably your competitors are working harder than you. You need to check your Google analytics account to pinpoint those keywords for which traffic has dropped.
I prefer keyword country to check the profitability of my keywords and to rip my competitor keywords. It’s a pretty good tool!

    Hello Friends,

The name "Google Dance" has often been used to describe the index update of the Google search engine. Google's index update occurred on average once per month. During an index update there was significant movement in search results and Google showed new backward links for pages. However, in mid-2003 Google started to update it's index continuously. It appears that, still, there has to be an update of the complete index once in a while and during this time new backward links are shown. But, because of the continuous update, the effects on search results seem to be rather insignificant.

    Thanks

If a website has a lot of powerful backlinks and is very trusted, it usually doesn't experience any Google dances (even if there is a Google update in progress).

Google does not dance anymore and has not danced for over a year. A google dance is a term referring to the way google used to update their SERP results, every 4 – 6 weeks. There was usually a massive change in the search results and the search results were generally unstable. Now google uses a continuously updating pattern so the results shown by google are much more stable than they once were.
