Generating traffic for another site

Hi, I have 2 domains one of them has a lot of content about 1000 articles and another new domain for witch I'm building the site now. Both domains are in the same domain: finance. The first fomain, the one that has the 1k articles is scoring 1st in google for the desired keywords. What I would like to do is to make out of the 2nd domain only a html page optimized for other keywords and point a lot (all) article titles to the 1st site. (even the header will point to the 2nd site and the "home" nav button) how will this impact my search engine rank.Will it downgrade my first website? It will be very hard to get up in google with the 2nd site? is this a "no-no" technic?
