    SEO Factors:
    First you have to do On-page optimization. like Meta-Title, Description, Keywords , Alt tags etc..and after that you can do Off-page optimization ie Directory submission, Social Bookmarking, Article Submission, Video Submission, Blog Commenting, Forum Posting & Commenting, Guest Posting etc etc...THis is enough to get the rank and traffic in GOogle for New Websites.

    Some of what has been said is true regards onsite SEO, however SEO has changed massively since the Google Panda & Penguin updates. Forget about getting crappy links from crappy directory, article, social and press release sites. Don't misunderstand me, there are good quality directory, social and press release sites but for a new website your SEO concerns should be focused on the content you have on the site rather than offsite SEO & link building. By looking at your competitors sites you should be able to see what it is they do to provide great info for their users and then improve on this by offering more & better info. By adopting these principles you will naturally be using all the keywords for your business as well as providing great content which will naturally attract high quality links to your new website's content!

    This is a pretty loaded question you're asking. Time and experience is going to work best. Hang out around SEOmoz.org and read their blog.

    If you're looking for a "get rick quick" site, you're going to fail. If you're treating your site like a legitimate business and you put in the time and hard work, you're going to be miles ahead of most webmasters. Also, don't get too attached to certain SEO tactics, doing too much of the same thing is NEVER a good idea.
