What are the methodology to perform Off page SEO for a site?

A warm welcome to all of you ,on my first thread on this site.
I want to do white hat SEO for my site. But i don't know how can i perform it. What are the thing that i need to do in link building and On page SEO please any on help me that how can i do link building for my site.

    off page majorly include forum posting,blog commenting,social media bookmarking,press releases,article postings..these generate valid back links and thus we can have better chances of improving the rank.

    while on page opt., is entirely related to our site.
    key word research and pre-optimization reports play a key role in making our site lists top to a particular keyword.
    we need to develop search engine algorithm friendly design,body text and content .
    we need to take care of header tags and meta tags ,they undoubtedly increase the chances of the getting top ranks.

    I am agree with above post but I want to add more strategies for off-page optimization like:
    1. Guest Post
    2. Contextual link building
    At the end I want to say that always use unique ip address websites for above activities.
