I noticed that the sites that advertise seo offer a monthly cost like 600 monthly for 6 months. Does this mean you have to constantly apply seo techniques I keep your site on the top of google? How hard would it be to get on page one of google on my own if im a noob at seo?

    It is important to keep working on SEO because it takes time to rank the keywords higher in serp and once they are on first page, the rankings needs to be maintained and just for that, we have to keep working on long term basis. The another reason is, search engines keep on making changes in their algorithm and if you want your website to be on top, you have to work on regular basis. Talking about a beginner, you may take at least 6 months to learn seo and after that, it will depend on your talent of analyzing the competitors and implementing them properly on your own project.
