No, you will not get any good ranking if you will leave your site for 4 months. For better ranking its necessary to work on daily basis.

It will depend on the keyword competition you are targeting. If there is less competition, then it wont take much time but if the keywords are pretty competitive, then you will surely need to work on offpage optimization for your website.
