  Yes I agree with you that actually if a marketer joins some good do follow forums then he can get success in building some do follow back links, however he can also post comments on good do follow blogs.

  DoFollow links are that link which link Google can count while calculatign the PR of your website. So if you have generating the backlink on that website which id DoFollow then you can get it's benefit too early and your website is rolling up in Google search result page.
