Profile backlink is really good

Hi all
I'm a newbie of this forum :) and I've a question want to know.
Sometimes, I read on some forums about SEO that talk about profile links. I read some tips from Angela, Paul's ebook.

So...
- Is profiles backlink is really good (backlinks from Signature, about me, Bio...)
- All profile backlinks has PR0 or n/a, so I've new site, how many profile backlinks can help my site has PR 3 and above.

    Yes profile links are helpful for backlink as well as for traffic. There is no any fixed criteria for getting PR of any particle page, its totally depends upon the quality content of ur site. For example, my profile on hubpages has PR3 and i have not added any single links of that profile page on any other sites.

    If you want to get fast raising your PR, I suggest using linkwheel technique. You will get powerful backlinks because is good and safe for Google link checker.

    Profile links and signature links are excellent methods in building traffic and augmenting PageRank. The forums @ BmkDispatch.com are SEO friendly. They encourage their users to build their profile including link to their website and signature links. However, do not post any off-topic messages or your karma will be demoted and your message deleted. Check out their Welcome to India forum. :)

    I dont think that profile links in any way good for your business as well as for the web. This is nothing but purely black hat technique and results in a lot of spam being pushed to the web.. With the money, brain at the disposal of Goggle if you think that Googl can allow these profile links to change the rankings of a website. I would say never. Give Google the respect it deserves and work on merit based ranking and not spam based ranking....

    A profile link is not spam. Links in signatures are not spam when the forum administrator allow it. The issue is the relevancy and quality of messages posted to forums and comments posted to blogs.

    Well buddy profile link is not a spam only when you are a contributing member on a forum and the link in your profile leads forum members to the website which is somehow related to the niche of the forum. But now a days people create profiles on around 1000 forums and never again return to the forum. What you call it, well in my defination it is spam becoz it is put for the sole intention of increasing backlinks and doesnt add any value to that forum or the web in general...

    profile backlink do good ,but ,most forum do not show your profile page by an only url ,how can solve the problem ? what's ,more how can i increase the weight of my profile ?

    you can see your link on your profile page... so if anyone visited your forum profile page, there is a chance that your url will be clicked. also search engine crawlers also visit your profile page, that's why it is good to have your url in forum profile page.

    Yeah i also agree with you, your absolutely right. The profile submission is really help to increase your PR. Well, i found here very interesting topic, i love to read more, please keep update.

    According to me. It is really nice because at google indexing it is count as a link of your site. Sometimes it become a backlink also. It is also contain traffic also.
