  Of course not. There are a lot of search engines but google has the most users. In fact almost all of the users. I think bing is going to get some more popularity but still google will dominate for a long time to come.

  Yes, there are other search engines out there but it varies country to country like in China majority use Baidu, in Russia majority use Yandex etc. All these search engines depends on the data provided from Google, Bing. So, from SEO perspective if one optimize their websites for Google and Bing it will be indexed in all other search engines.

  Interestingly, Facebook's recent decision to go public on the stock exchange is an effort to compete with Google. I'm not sure if or how they intend to act as a search engine, but I wouldn't put any money against their developers.
