Well both are useful and best ways of driving traffic, link building and to market your site. Blogs are the best place to drive traffic through guest posting and discussion and forums are the best place to market your site. So if you target them both then you can gain more.

Both are of course important. forums are kind of time-consuming though but you have to stay active in those forums to make your links work.

both thing are important at their places because both are way of link building..but the difference is blogs are not time taking and forums posting is time taking way...but they are equally important...!

Both are well but these are different way to generate traffic Blog makes more traffic if your submitted blogs are informative and helpful post are made. Forum is a place where you can share your knowledge whit signature but I always prefer blog posting for getting traffic.
