Alexa Ranking, Google Ranking...

Hi everyone,

I'd like to know if the alexa and google rank page is usefull and must be considered as good information when a website is getting "ranked".

According to Alexa my website:

4 days ago it was:

Alexa Traffic Rank: 5,653,168

Today:

Alexa Traffic Rank: 4,157,195

Should i consider this information as good?

Is this rank the same as Page Rank?

Do you consider is getting ranked fast, normal or slow?

    Alexa Rankings concerns in traffic only and this is different as Page Rank. In traffic, it is normal that the ranking is unstable depending on the performance of the site. I would suggest to focus on your pr rankings through Search Engine Optimization.

    Pagerank is just for Page only, so there are some case in which the post has higher pr than the homepage :D so funny

    Yes that's good if your alexa rank is decreasing that means traffic to your website is increasing. Page rank is different from this. Page rank is a numeric value given by Google to your website to let know the online reputation of your website.

    Alexa rank decrease it means you have get high traffic for your site than previous. And as page rank shows the reputation of any website and google has certain algorithm for assigning page rank. Page rank decide by many factors as quality content, inbound&outbound links , traffic, and bounce rate. As per new algorithm for page rank, it prefer for quality content more.

    Alexa rank based traffic volume of your website as the basis for ranking; since Alexa rank ranks websites/webpages, ranking can search as much as hundred million or higher. The lower Alexa rank value your website has, the better since 1 is the highest (which Google has indisputably earned). PageRank, on the other hand, varies only from 1-10 in which 10 is the highest. PR ranking is merely based on how much quality backlinks your website/webpages has earned.

    Both give out tool has different purpose alexa targets traffic while google serp and ranking but with google webmaster tool you can access all this info.
