  it would be the content. remember that, people do search because they are looking for information and the information is on your content. Also that, a good and informative content helps to make a better page rank and search engine rankings. If you prioritize on making quality content, then most probably to get a lot of benefits.

  Of course content is far more important than page rank. PR won't give you traffic, you can't also gain trust of your audiences with PR, it cannot convert traffic to sales and leads. But having a well built content will definitely give you all of these.

  Basically there is no comparision between Content and PR. Although if i have to choose, then i will go with Content. A decent content can affect your SERP but PR cannot.

  good content is more important that pr. Google always emphasis that a website should be concentrate on the content, a pr is just a number, when we so seo, Google hope we could put effort on content too.

  I think both of these are interrelated and both content and PR are necessary for a good SERP. I believe that you must first concentrate on your Content and make it user friendly and informative. After that go with offpage optimization. It will surely help you in Search Engine rankings.

  Good and fresh content will attract more readers. Some readers will post a link on their blogs, on forums, on social networks etc, if they find your content useful, funny or interesting in some other way. So you will get nice PR that way, too, in a time.

  Yes I agree, Good content will earn you better natural type links. I would rather get linked to for having good content than paying good moneys.

  It would seem to met that you could not achieve a organic PR without quality content; is marriage between the two. How can you achieve a good PR if you do not have quality content? If someone achieves a high PR with no regard to quality of content it would seem to me that such a page would not remain high PR for long. After all, it is ultimately those who search the web that decide if a web page stays high PR or not; and those who use search engines are looking for quality content.

  I'll go for quality content rather than PR, i didn't say that PR is not important, good content will lead to a high quality backlinks because our readers most likely go on informative and usable story.
