  It’s not that search engines open a Pandoras box each New Year/ month...The techniques remain the same. But Google’s been focusing more on improving user experience....which means you should be continuing to offer value, keep useful content above the fold, not indulge in cheap link buying practices, write content that attracts links naturally & make the most of social media. Also, it announced Penguin update lately which means you should steer clear from keyword stuffing and link spamming.

  there is only one rule..No spamming...because Google master doesn't like this and if you break the rules you will be penalized by penguin teacher.

  Yep. there is now no spamming rule. The panda and the penguin updates deals with these issues. If you are spamming your content or stuffing your keywords, it is going to affect your serp's rankings. Use fresh and unique content always. Hope that helps.

  Google do not like spamming you can say shortcuts using to get higher ranking over night and also update your content that delivers the knowledge required by the user.

  As per my knowledge Google penguin is the latest and new matter in the search engine optimization and it more and more focus on over optimization activity such as keyword stuffing, cloaking, duplicate content etc. and for off page don’t get the link from low quality and unrelated sites, don’t be part of link firm etc.
