Google Panda =disaster

Today one of my best ranked site's traffic dropped by more than 80% .i saw sites that offer the same content (lyrics) with no additional information (like i have - album name, picture of the album, artist biography, video of the song-all added manually) ,rank on top for many searches .now i ask why? since their content is the same ,and since the lyrics are the same ? Google should make a rule for sites that offer general content, that can't be unique, and that rule should apply to all ,not just to some of the websites

what do you think about this "Panda" update ? is it good or bad for you ? i heard it is bad for many

Are you talking about freemp3fan.com? It's quite a competitive niche filled with duplicate content so I imagine most low ranked lyrics sites were affected by the Panda update.

Did google consider yours as "duplicate"? Are you showing Adsense ads? Or your competitor?

some said that its disaster but for google its a good update, so they can focus on quality content.. since lyrics can have duplicate with other site.. which i believe google already handle that, but you might consider adding canonical..

    Hi all,
Google panda is just an update of Google algorithm of crawling sites. You need to update your content and it should be fresh.

I´ve had two sites affected by the Panda, and I´m not too happy about it. Both had original content so shouldn´t have been affected at all.
I´ve just found an interesting article on the very subject on Squidoo. Fella there says Google has got too big for its boots.
Good article actually you can find it at squidoo, its called "has-the-panda-googled-you"

    Hi,

There are some website owners who gained PR but the most of website owners encountered a drop in their PR. In fact the main reasoning behind the Google Panda issue is to trim down the position of those websites with duplicate and low-quality content. Thus, if your website got a one or several points higher in PR, that only means that your website is highly regarded by Google with unique and valuable content.

    Congrats,
    - Smith Jones.

I think Google is itself not satisfied with its changes and it is why it is making tweaks with its current algo and to be honest, I am not at all satisfied with the outcome.

I got improvement from Google Panda. As you realised, SEarch Engine (especially Google) is getting humanize, which means Google is getting focus on human (searchers). It is human who read, who search, who buy. This is not surprised Google rolled out Panda Algorithm. That's why my site keep optimizing for Human....

Even they keep tweaking, in future more and more algorithms are for human. And in Google Webmaster Blog, Google told that Panda Algorithm is only one of the 500 improvements in this year. If we optimize for machine, how could we catch up.

The best way is to optimize to human! :)

I have only started IM when Panda was already out there. I just need to upskill myself to what has happened. At least when I start moving upwards, I will have some level of reassurance that I am doing something right with the content of my page.

    I totally agree.
Content must be original and make sense for human readers.
