    I agree with what my friend Smith Jones said and would like to add that the content of the article also carries a lot of importance. It should not be copied from other site or else you get penalized for the same. Original content is no doubt a bit difficult for many but take it as "expressing your views" on a certain topic and that should help in improving the quality of articles gradually.

    Well there are various article submission sites lie ezine, articlebase etc.These accept only unique content and chances are very high if you are dong over promotion than they reject your article.So be careful while submitting the article.There are guidelines given when you open an account.

    Hi,

    Article Directory Submission: That is associated with sites like Ezine or Articlebase are worthless. Google Panda update devalued those sites and sites like them. If you publish something there and check the value in Open Site Explorer (OSE) you will see that the back links are worthless.

    Directory Submission: Same, if you submitting to a directory that is not a 100% niche then it is worthless.

    Example of a good directory to submit a law office: findlaw.com, lawyers.com
    Examples of a good place to submit good articles on web design: webdesign.org

    It is google to publish articles but not through low valued sites. Start doing the following searches to find high quality directories & articles submission sites:

    [YOUR KEYWORD] intitle:"submit article"
    [YOUR KEYWORD] intitle:"submit material"
    etc...
