My first 301 redirect went south.. need advice.

New to this forum, so Hello to all.

I have a problem with losing PR and my keyword position because of a 301 redirect.

The 301 was done in IIS for a single htm page to an asp page. This htm page was ranked number one in Google for a search term and had a PR of 4. I actualy had the first two listings for this search term and they were as follows:

1) mypage.com/myhtmpage.htm
description

2) mypage.com
description

In other words, I had the number 1 and 2 spot for this search term. The htm page was the more relevant of the two, as it directly applied to the search term and it was in the number 1 spot. The second listing is my home page, and requires a lot of navigation to get to the htm page that was listed first.

After the 301, the listing has dropped to the number 5 position for the search term, and the listing is only my home page. The new asp page isn't even listed and the page rank for the new asp page is 0.

5) mypage.com
description

Can anyone tell me how to correct this and get my PR, and hopefully my search term position back? Or should I just leave it alone and hope it comes back when Google crawls it again?

Thanks in advance.
