I've been reading dozens of recent articles on link wheels and how google
feels about them and I have a few questions and concerns.
1. Google says not to use unnatural link building strategies to try and
influence the serps. Since that is what we are doing, I would like to know
what you have done and are doing to ensure Google doesn't find out. Either
now or two years from now when G decides to release a new algo update that
could include penalizing sites using this strategy.
2. Shouldnt we be using high quality, relevant, unique content on each
spoke of the wheel? I've noticed that in the past you just post the same
article over and over.
3. Shouldn't the link building be spread evenly over time rather than all
the posts being done in one or two days as you have done in the past?
4. When you create the web 2.0 properties, are you doing anything to make
sure google can't tell they were set up by the same person?
Thanks

This applies to ALL linkbuilding; be careful with the amount of links you place. To time this is called 'dripping'. So you can drip links at a rate of 50 / day for instance. Especially new sites should be careful not to place to many links at once.
When I do manual linkwheel building I create all the spikes first.. and then connect them by placing links 1 per day. Use different usernames. Other than that I think the 'footprint' issue is being emphasized to much in general.

Off Topic Disagree Agree Like"We try to direct users to the site that will give them the most relevant results." ~support.google.com/websearch/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=873 and if you see the page I've shared just below the one I quoted it said: "Reporting incorrect IP detection". So tell me if I'm wrong here.
