  Yes Google or Yahoo have different algorithms.Yahoo's first priorities is Onpage.If your onpage is strong then ranking is in top posistion on Yahoo and Google's algo is change.

  On the whole I think getting better rankings in yahoo is much easier than Google. Yahoo indexes most links an make a backlink for the URL whereas Google omits many results while keeping only a few backlinks.
