The Google + button will effect their friends if one of them +'s your site. So for example if I'm a friend with you on Google + and you + a site then I will get the site you Google +'d when I search for your keyword.
However since not that many people use Google + it's hard to get +'s/
Google+ is a HUGE plus for google ranking and has a HUGE impact in marketing strategies. The tricky part is that you need to have many followers. There is one tool that can help you accomplish that fast: Google Plus Socialzier. The best one as we speak!
Social Factors Influence Search Rankings Social factors from different sites such as Twitter and Facebook have already
been baked into SERPs even prior to the public introduction of the +1 button feature of Google Plus. This is despite the fact that there is no immediate indication on its instant effects on Page Rank. For instance, research showed how Google indexes a link is dependent on the number of times a link gets retweets. Or at any rate, this has been the situation prior to Google’s discreet cutting off of Twitter firehose out of their search results and recent ending of their real-time search feature. With the presence of Google Plus and its +1 button, it is evident that social activities are happening on Google itself. It is quite unbelievable to think that these +1 button clicks of a certain page, for example, have no effects on its organic rankings.
Just recently in Google Plus, Rand Fishkin started an experiment (which I gladly participated in) on trying out Google Plus metrics alone in ranking a website. Check it out: http://seo-hacker.com/google-affect-seo/
