Angry google not indexing pages

    hi all need some help

    Site: www.vinylsearcher.com
    pages: 3 million
    age: 8 years

Google doesn't seem to be listing my individual products very well. I
am wondering if it's because it uses a Id in the URL so the urls are
    clean for example

    /items/12346/mark.aspx

Obviously this number changes quite frequently. My other other option
    is to adopt

    /items/mark.aspx?id=12345

Then the base URL wouldn't *change.

Other issues include I can't get a sitemap for the whole site as it's
    too big.

    Very interesting site!!!

    Ok, a few pointers:

    1) you have far too many internal links at the moment, there are over 350 on the homepage alone, you should restrict yourself to 80-90 at first until you build up a decent pagerank

    2) you need to work on some site architecture issues, there is just too much content appearing on the site at one time, I think you should place more importance on the genres of your records first, then the records themselves afterwards

    3) build more links, build better links

    4) DO submit a sitemap, there are lots of programs online that can spider your website, or you can download a good php one that does it on your server as well... it will help google with the indexing, but you will need backlinks first to make google understand that its worthwhile to index your pages

    good luck!

How can you tell your site is index? On the other hand, how do I know it's indexed?

go to google, type into the search box:

    site:YOURDOMAIN.COM

(obviously, replace it with your actual domain name)

Google will then tell you how many pages they have indexed, the same method works on yahoo/bing.

For a site that lists products, one other possibility is that SE sees some content duplication. If they see duplicates, they will pick few (usually 1) version to index. By duplicate, I meant product descriptions. Maybe some other sites has the same content.

But you should have a sitemap, there are some free sitemap generators out there.

Try submitting an article to a high pr site like activerain and have anchor links to the pages you want them to index. Since that 3rd party site is higher ranked and spidered more frequently, google will index the anchors and go to the pages on your site and give you immediate credit. Trust me it works, ive done it...

If Google is not indexing pages; it means crawler is not reached at that page. You can make another page of that product and analyse that it index or not & work on sitemap.

Visitors found this page by searching for:

google not indexing all pages

google not indexing internal pages

google not indexing all pages in sitemap
