Thread: What about other Search Engines?

This forum only has a section for Google. While Google may be the largest search engine in the world it is not the only one. It would be great to have sections for other large search engines and a 'catch all others' section. What do you guys (and gals) think?

thats a totally fair point, and infact there is a forum section for yahoo and bing, but back in the early days I removed it from public view, as it wasnt adding anything.

Now that we have reached a certain size in members and posts there are a few sections I am thinking of adding, including a PPC / Adwords / Adsense forum (lets call that "paid search"), and an affiliate marketing specific forum as well.

Over the next month or so I will add them as appropriate, what I dont want to do is swamp the board with area's with little or no content.

I think that'd be great as well. However for the most part if you optimize well for Google you should do ok in the other search engines. For the most part SEO is similar though there are certain factors that Bing and Yahoo differ from Google on (ie. website age, keyword importance etc). I would think though the differences would be fairly trivial. Google does have about 60% marketshare so if you optimize well for Google you should be fine.

just a suggestion Mr.Admin, I think it would looks better if you will put all search engines into a "Search Engine" category than on putting them as an individual category. Also looking forward for your PPC/Adwords category...

Its may be because Google is the most popular search engine and is also favoirte of most the search engine optimizer and also Google is the most useful and handy search engine.

Yes it is really a great idea as other search engins also has many features and many users can use other than Google. So it is good to have some information about all other search engines also.

That would be a great idea to add some more areas for this forum, I mean, users have grown, they want more and more, they are eager for knowledge etc.

I am agree with the all suggestion. I think MOGmartin should try to add some more topics. I think these are topic should be in this list.

Hi, We can simply have a section "Other Search Engines".

because most of the people using google search engine compare to other search engine.

or a section.. other search engines that nobody cares about..hehe.. only joking..yes other search engines get MANY people seaching otherwise they wouldn't survive and still be around.. so yes would be interesting to see how to optimise for these other search engines.

It may be due to peoples focus only google to get traffic and increase site serp's because most of the peoples prefer google but if the Admin will add new category for other search engines then it may be good for discuss about other search engines.
