Thread: Google PR - made me surprised.

I Confirmed PR update of June 27, 2011. One of my sites was PR2 and now PR4

and a strange thing happens to another site, it is -

I don't know how is that possible!! I'm working on a website that has 50 backlinks and still PR3;

For sure this is not a mistake from google! but what else it could be?

What do you think - can low competence be responsible for that?

PR is not based solely on inbound links, although they are very important. Sometimes it may only take a few "important" back links to skyrocket the PR ranking of a site. So out of the 50 back links, your site may have one or more very high quality sites that Google considers important enough to qualify a better ranking.

Also keep in mind that if your site is one of very few out bounds from a decent quality PR4 or PR5 site, it is worth more than if you are 1 of hundreds from a PR9 site. So again, as in a lot of SEO, quality beats quantity.

pr is also based on age of your website as well as content distribution on your website, this is fact this year google have given extra ordinary pr to websites because now on site seo matters more than off site part of seo

Yeah, I was also surprised by my instant change in PR. I had a new domain and on sudden got a bounce to PR 3 with a little SEO web activity.
