this is probably a really dumb question but here goes ......

what is a trackback and how does it work? what are the benefits of a trackback. Does the trackback create a link to the url you enter?

A trackback is one of three types of linkbacks methods for web authors to request notification when somebody links to one of their documents. This enables authors to keep track of who is linking, and so referring, to their articles.

Are you talking about an seoforums.org trackback, or is this a general question? if so, its in the wrong section, and I will move it.
