Thread: Get Homepage Links from SEOforums.org

To celebrate the fact that we have just got a Pagerank 5 - we are giving you guys some of the love back!

Starting next week, the top 3 posters each week will appear on the homepage, with links back to your sites.

This is a very valuable link for anyone, especially those of you with SEO related sites as it is an on topic link from a top SEO site.

So: Get posting, and look out for further instructions later in the week!

thanks for the congrats! We actually have a couple of inner page PR5's, and dozens of PR4's as well.

To be honest, I actually dont place too much importance (if any) in the pagerank, its just the positions that Im interested in, but linking out to you guys from the homepage is a reward that I know will be appreciated so lets give it a shot and see if it helps drive the community forward (in a non spammy way).

Well done. I'm interested in your views that you don't pay much attention to Page Rank as everyone else seems to! I guess you're more interested in the the right sort of content from the right sort of people?

hello ,MOGmartin congrats for getting PR5. You must be pretty excited about it. Actually i too am very excited as on saturday the PR were updated the site for which i was doing seo has got PR 3 now. I have to thank seoforum as i got valuable backlinks from it and hoping to keep getting it .

sure thing - well, pagerank is essentially a useless measurement for your own website. If the website is yours already, you should know how well it ranks for stuff, and how many linbound links youve got.

If a website belongs to someone else, and you are using it as a measurement of that websites strength, I guess it is of importance as a broad measurement, but I wouldnt place too much credence in it at all. You see too many domains these days with really high Alexa ranks, tonnes of links, great SERPS, and PR4.

The only time in which PR is of importance (really) to anyone is buying links.

As per my above comments, Im "pleasently satisfied" at the PR5 - but as its not a measurement for anything really, it doesnt make much difference to my life

Nice contest, I must admit. However, PR these days is not of so great importance, I put all my work for getting higher SERPs and traffic.

I have a sports site. Would this help at all if they if their is no relevance in the content?

you just need to post, only posts with over 100 characters are counted.

the people with the top 3 amount of posts in the last 7 days (rolling) will get a homepage link.

you will be able to define in your control panel both the link URL and the anchor text.

that bit doesnt actually exist yet though, I still have to build it

well - pagerank is pagerank - and views on that range from "not at all of any value" right up to "the most valuable thing in SEO". In reality its somewhere between those two exteremes.

Whether the link will be of value to a sports site, or any other site not SEO related, well - it is of value, because its a high value link, BUT its nowhere near as valuable as it would be to an SEO related site as then you also have tight subject matter correlation.

Think of it this way, with a strong PR5 link you will get a lot more spider activity, google will find updates on your site within hours, as opposed to days or weeks, but if the niche isnt SEO then its not going to add a lot of weight to your ability to rank for your own key phrases.

so - its not without value, but if it were an SEO site it would be much more valuable, hope that all makes sense!

For a Forum most important is relevant discussion and not higher number of posts.

Erm, trying to think of something really useful to say. I think I'd just like to say cheers for a useful forum. I guess a forum is only as good as its members and I hope quality stays high - proper topics, proper advice, few giggles, proper little community. Nice.

Didn't notice this thread so far. But I see some Russian guys try to spam the forums but no one could delete those posts right away!

BTW, I see my name without any link on Top Poster of the week. So it seems that you manually choose the link text for each of them? I think it's a time consuming.

Just 2 minutes ago I updated (3 times) the link and text in Top poster's settings and got Database errors! Other sections/ages are OK.

I know the reason:
- Add ' (possession) then we will get database error. Eg: [URL="http://www.giggleshoes.com.au/"]children's shoes[/URL] will get trouble but it's OK with "[URL="http://www.giggleshoes.com.au/"]children shoes[/URL]".

Maybe it got the problem with meta char ('). Try non-meta keyword, such as [URL="http://www.vavietnam.com"]thiet ke website[/URL]
