  dmoz approval is horribly slow. But it is a directory that YOU NEED to be listed in, so go ahead and do that ASAP. here is a compiled list of FREE directories that you can sort by PR. Some as high as PR6.

  I have also use vmoptions.com in addition to that this list is regularly updated for me its recommended for SEO.

  DMOZ can be slow. So when you have a new website with some basic content, then sign up and wait.
  
  Linksites are (with few exceptions) no good - waste of time and don't give any SEO juice.
  
  I would never use auto-submission for my main website.

  DMOZ is good with a very high PR. but they dont have fast approval since they are the bigdest human edited web directory. so it may actually take a few weeks to over a few months to get approval.
