hi
i wondered if as the subject says, do adword adverts count as backlinks from adsense sites?
if you set a low bid value, would this be shown 'not to often' but still give you the benefits of backlinks?
thanks

'fraid not.
the adsense boxes are powered by JS, which the spiders do not read.
Even if they did read it, the links are not directly to your site, they go to google first, as they have to track the clicks etc.
sorry!

It is one of the misconception that is out there. Lots of people think pay per clicks ads can be counted as back-links. The truth is there is no relation at all between pay per click ads and back-links. Back-links are incoming links to a website or web page. Pay per click itself is an Internet advertising method used to direct traffic to a particular site, where the advertiser pay the hosting service when the ad is clicked.
Even though I do agree with everyone, I have noticed several times that our company does get indexed in non-related websites. For instance, I once noticed we were in a traveling website when we are completely the opposite. So, links do not count for back links, we know that, but sometimes they get indexed, I think. Since ads just rotate on every refresh, it is just a "lucky" thing.
At the end, it does not count and it does not help. I was just pointing that this does happen.
